  • Selected as Captain of South African Team to attend the Gichin Funakoshi Cup (Shoto-cup) world champs in Japan 2024

  • Western Province JKA Coach (dojo members achieved 41 medals from 44 participants)

2023

  • Grand Champion 1st place Kata and Kumite Mens Veterans Division Indo-Pacific Cup
  • Selected as JKA Senior Head Coach for Indo-Pacific Cup in Mauritius. SA mens and womens team came 2nd.
  • Grand Champion 1st place Kata and Kumite Mens Veterans Division SA and All Africa Cup.
  • 1st place Mens Team event All Africa Cup.
  • 1st place Mens Team event SA Champs.
  • Western Province Coach (dojo members achieved 54 Medals)
  • Graded to A class International Instructor.

2022

  • Grand Champion 1st place Kata and Kumite Mens Veterans Division SA Champs
  • 2nd Place Mns Team Event SA Champs.
  • Western Province Coach 69% of team medaled at SA Champs. (took 49 western province team participants from my Dojo and achieved 45 Medals).
  • West End Primary School in finals of The Best Schools in The World (overcoming adversity)

2020

  • Appointed as Junior National JKA coach to attend the World Gichin Funakoshi Cup in Japan October 2020. (event postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic)

2019

  • 1st place Kumite and 2nd place Kata Veterans Division SA Champs

  • One of Western Province JKA team coaches

2018

  • Graded to 6th Dan and inducted onto JKA senior technical board.

  • Grand Champion 1st place Kata and Kumite Mens Veteran Division SA Champs.
  • 2nd Place Mens Team Event
  • One of Western Province Sensei/Coach team achieved 91 medals at SA Champs.

2017

  • Appointed Coach Of the JKA National Junior Team to attend the World Shoto-cup in Ireland in August 2017 (team achieved 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze).
  • Grand Champion 1st place Kata and Kumite Mens Open Veterans division SA Champs.

2016

  • Coach of Western Province JKA Karate team. (team achieved over 60 medals at SA JKA Champs)

2015

  • Attained International B-Class Instructor Qualification.

2014

  • SA JKA KATA CHAMPION (SA Champs May)
  • 3rd Place mens open kumite. (SA Champs May)
  • Selected for SA Team and attended World Champs Shoto-Cup in Japan in October for Kata and Team Fighting.
  • Attained international Referees, Instructor and Examiner qualifications at the World Training Camp at the Headquarters in Japan (October)
  • Running Cognitive Development Program through karate instruction at West End Primary (Mitchells Plein) for Grade R’s and Grade 1’s.
